Day 4: Layover Near Clarice Lake

We had built one layover day into our plan – always a good idea when dealing with powers beyond your control. So, after being drenched by rain and beaten by hail yesterday, we decided to cash in our layover day today. Which was good, because today was warm, sunny 😎, and dry – almost all day. 😃

We lounged around camp, did a short hike to see Clarice and Laura Lakes, took a lot of photos, read a bit, and – most importantly – dried everything. And we were far enough off the John Muir Trail (JMT) that we didn’t see anyone else for the whole day. We had a truly excellent day in the High Sierra. 😁
