A Walk in the Snow (Minnetonka, MN) 16-Nov-2022

On November 2nd the high here was 76℉ (24.4℃). By the 10th it was 64℉ (17.7℃). The next day it was 30℉ (24.4℃). And day after tomorrow, it will be 17℉ (-8.3℃). Winter is here. 🥶 And, oh, we got our first snow too – which lead to 1,300+ traffic accidents state-wide as folks forgot to switch their driving mode from “endless summer” to “freaking slippery.” 😲 Seeing what this weather was doing to the natives, we stayed home.

Our Little Local Hike (Eden Prairie, MN) 05-Oct-2022

Fall colors at Lone Lake, Minnetonka, Minnesota

When we lived in Oregon, we did a lot of hiking. But on those days when we wanted a walk, but didn’t want to drive anywhere, we had an out-the-front-door favorite. Basically various loops around our neighborhood (which seemed to add a new house each time we went for a walk). It took some map gazing, but we finally found a similar – maybe even better – no-drive option outside the door of our new home here. 😀

Bryant Lake Regional Park (Eden Prairie, MN) 29-Jun-2022

Bryant Lake is a small, lakeside park located not far from our new (but 50-year old) home. This park is fairly small, but has lots of water-related activities, disc golf, and a few short trails (Hike #9 in 60 Hikes). It’s chief attraction today was it being between our house and the home store. As we left the house for our gazillionth trip to that store for yet more DIY stuff, we thought: “Why not stop at the park for an hour in Nature? That leak in our plumbing can wait!” So so we did. And it was good. 😁 And the leak went on… 🙄

We note that Congress has recently started hearings on whether UFOs are real (birds aren’t but them UFOs might be!). 🛸 Nice to know that Congress has solved all of our other national problems and the only one left is worrying about UFOs possibly bearing space aliens. 😒 Or maybe Congress is hoping the Vulcans will show up and save us from ourselves. Whatever. 🙄 But we’d like to help by pointing out to that august body that Bryant Park is an official space alien landing site – we saw the sign that proves it!

Space Aliens Land Here!!
Alien or fern? YOU decide!

Later we got to wondering if space aliens might know something about plumbing? 🛸😉
